Wasted love

Let me tell you about how I got these shorts. A story also known as "This is how far I'll go to save money".

Once upon a time, Target opened hundreds of stores across Canada without doing any test marketing or market research. Angry Canucks complained that prices were too high and merchandise was scarce - nothing like we've heard from our American neighbours. After mere months of mass misery, Target pulled out of Canada completely. Within their last few weeks, Target held huge closing sales. Curious, I went to browse. I picked out these shorts and an electronic version of Taboo, then went to go line up for an hour or two.

So just to save 50% off, I wasted the greater part of an afternoon and bought shorts that are actually too big for me. I absolutely loved the length and the slightly distressed look, but I don't think the value of the shorts met up to the amount of patience I used. Oh well, at least Taboo is fun...

    These things happen! When Black Friday hits, we all stand in never-ending lines just to end up disappointed with 50% of our purchases. Usually, those disappointing pieces tend to be clothing items -- so I empathize.
    For what it's worth, the shorts look pretty good on you in these photos! I love the length -- comfortable but short enough for braving heat waves :)

    I miss Target (I had a very similar experience with purchasing a pair of jeans during their close out sale....but I still miss them).

    They look like great shorts, and you can't tell that they are too big in the photos. Belts are wonderful for that! :)

    At least it gave you an interesting story, and you are still getting wear out of the shorts! :)

    I have wasted MANY afternoons at Target. The struggle is real. I didn't know they totally bombed in Canada though!!! It's not them, it must be you guys. ;)

    Now that IS dedication to saving money! Bummer about Target leaving, but they're not great if they don't have good stuff at good prices, that's kind of their thing. Even if they're big, I like the shorts and how you've styled them here--such a cute, laid-back look!

    Well they were definitely worth it, they do look like the perfect shorts! The prices are a bit ridiculous in that store sometimes though
