Chunky cardigan c/o Chicnova / Burgundy chiffon skirt from Lookbookstore / Blue blouse from H&M
I go back and forth on how I feel about long chunky cardigans. On one hand, they're really cozy and add some nice dimension. But I'm just not a fan of how they look under short jackets. Layering is a nice look, but only when it's intentional (note: that includes trying to look effortless). Except when I only own short puffy winter jackets that stand up to -10 degrees, the little bit of a cardigan sticking out from under the jacket just looks like a poor piece of fabric that you forgot about and that is now sadly flapping in the wind.

ReplyDeleteLove this outfit for the mix of causal and cool!
ReplyDeleteHaha totally know what you mean about long chunky cardigans under short coats. I always end up wearing long coats to avoid that problem but sometimes the weather only gives you so much room and you have to stick with short puffer coats.
ReplyDeleteThat said, you look so chic! I love the layering in this outfit and I love how warm and rich to color palette is. Lovely!

I feel the same way. In my opinion, the cardigan either has to be much longer than the jacket or shorter. That weird in between length just doesn't look intentional enough. But this sweater looks adorable with this ensemble! I love that skirt and of course those booties!

The way you've described the extra fabric under the short jacket is so true! It looks odd and like it shouldn't be there!
ReplyDeleteYour chunky sweater is nice and the effortless yet cosy look is definitely achieved!

I love this outfit, so casual yet chic! I know what you mean about the annoying aspects of layering during the winter (arghh why isn't it summer again??), I wear a long coatigan a lot that has parts that are longer in the front than in the back, so it sticks out when I wear a long winter coat (which looks weird). So I totally understand your pain! Nevertheless, you love amazing in this sweater so make sure you wear it!

I absolutely love your outfit dear.x Love the layering with the cardigan and shirt, and that skirt is the perfect pop of colour for this outfit! I love oversize sweaters but to be honest I don't really like layering them with short jackets as well, they just don't look good together! So pretty.x
