Let me begin by saying that I hate the book/movie "The Devil Wears Prada". Yet when I saw this shirt, I was drawn to the colour. Shamefully, because I remember the scene in the movie where the boss from hell was describing how high-end fashion trickles down to consumers. It's not just blue, it's cerulean. Anyway, my main beef with this movie is: If you walk into your job and laugh at the industry and don't know the importance of your boss, you don't deserve the job. A million girls might want your job, but there's at least one who is more deserving. There's no excuse for unprepared underachievers. Not even if you're Anne Hathaway.

Annnnddd the first thing I thought when I saw the tittle was The Devil Wears Prada.
ReplyDeleteI think Meryl Strep/Miranda Preistly says that to Anne's character in the movie. Oh wait, it was the red hair girl that told Anne's character to fashion up or go home, a million girls would kill for her job. The book's a bit better than the movie, and there's a sequel!
I love your bright contrasting scarf against the cerulean top. The color suits you!

Hi Sabrina!! First...thanks for visiting my blog & allowing me to visit yours. I am loving this look. If only it wasn't so chilly in Baltimore. Jealous! Ha ha! And the book/movie annoys me b/c she just lets Amanda walk all over her. Very irritating. Oh well....

I actually enjoyed 'The Devil Wears Prada' for its comic nature, but I 100% agree with you that if you have no respect for your industry or your boss, than there is someone else that is much more deserving of your job.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Thanks for sharing! I always appreciate reading a post written by smart and level-headed women!

really cute outfit specifically those shorts!
ReplyDeletePersonally I really liked the movie, I think she learned to really appreciate the industry and her boss in the end...but i love Meryl Streep so maybe I'm just a bit biased :)
I had to actually go watch that clip lol But what she said is true...
