Firstly, when you're from a city known for its conservative styles, it's hard to be motivated to dress to stick out like a sore thumb. Next, I'm kind of a germaphobe and the fringes kinda touch the sink when I lean slightly to wash my hands. This is disgusting and makes me want to burn the vest in a sacred ritual as an attempt to rid myself of contamination. But mostly the first reason.
What I'm wearing:
-Brown fringe vest
-Lace shorts
-Orange top
-Fringe necklace
I feel ya on the conservative city thing. It is way hard to experiment and try new things when you know all you are going to get is stared at, and have weird descriptions thrown at you. But do you know what? Do it anyways :) You look great and somebody has to help out that town!
ReplyDeleteHaha, oh I know, except my town isn't conservative. It's just...so small town. Haha, basically, boring, and if you dress up in any way they look at you funny. It's intimidating, but I have too much fun expressing myself through fashion to pay too much attention.

ReplyDeleteOther than the germs, I totally dig the vest! It's not something you could rock on the regular, but it could be multi-functional!
ReplyDeleteI love the vest, I know what you mean though. I can't do sequins most of the time because they're scratchy. I don't know how many people feel comfortable in sequined garments, things that drag the ground (maxis) or flutter about.
