Object-ive footwear

I enjoy weird fashion art as much as the next person, but I question how much "fashion" is left when things get too weird.  Upon first glance, these shoes from Kobi Levi made me chuckle in appreciation of their creativity.  But after pondering a while...who would actually wear these shoes?  Or a better question- who would pay around $2000 for these?  With a gimmick like this, I'd imagine the price to be much less.  I mean, do you know what I could buy for $2000?  I'm thinkin' 2 Burberry bags, 5 big screen TV's, 4 months of rent, or 1333 packs of Skittles.

  1. No way...the banana shoes?
Haha, I do appreciate the creativeness and fun spirit of them, but how do they make any money? Because who in their right mind would actually buy them! Maybe it's only for manic collectors who display them...lol

  2. These are very arty and I think this is what they should stay as - art. I don't think I'd buy em, but let's face it, I would totally try them on. Just once... Juuuust once :)

  4. I agree. I'm totally shoe obsessed but I doubt I could bring myself to spend that much on any pair of shoes...

  5. LOL! I saw these and some of the other more interesting designs on the website--made me gasp a little! Funny but I wouldn't pay $2000 for any of them---I'm surprised Daphne Guinness hasn't worn any yet????

  6. Maybe Katy Perry, Lady Ga Ga, or Nicki Minaj would buys these shoes??????

    $2000 is a little ridiculous.

  7. I'm in complete agreement...I love designer shoes (these funny artistic ones or the really gorgeous artistic ones!)...but for $2000 I could buy SO many other things in life. And I'm sorry, but $2K is how much I make in an entire month. It just doesn't seem worth it for something as transient and silly as these, regardless of how much "fun" they are.

P.s. Dittos on your post about dress/skirt pockets!!!!!!! And I'm following your blog now :)

  8. At first glance, these shoes are definitely unique, and I would dare say a pair or two are kind of cute. But $2000? HELL NO! This shall remain eye candy.

  9. I would totally wear those orca shoes, especially if they cost twenty times less and had a lower heel!

  11. Definitely agree, i'd buy all those skittles first before those! I mean they would be great for house decoration or even maybe an occasional wear for some crazy moment. But the art behind those shoes are wonderful, I'd have to admit.

  14. I love your logic of purchasing 1333 packets of skittles > a pair of crazy shoes ;) <3
